The REDMI Note 14 is the 4G version of the Note 14. It is the entry point of the Note 14 series. Xiaomi presented it at the global launch of the series on January 10, 2025. A separate model with 5G, the REDMI Note 14 5G, uses a different chip and camera setup. Xiaomi’s German online store lists the 4G model from €199.90. It targets buyers who want a large AMOLED screen and long battery life on a budget.
Design and display
The phone has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Xiaomi rates its peak brightness at 1,800 nits. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the front. The back is plastic, and the phone carries an IP54 rating against dust and splashes. It measures 163.25 x 76.55 x 8.16 mm. It weighs 196.5 grams. Xiaomi sells it in Lime Green, Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, Mist Purple and Sand Gold. Colors vary by region.
Performance
Inside is the MediaTek Helio G99-Ultra, a version of the Helio G99 built on a 6nm process. Its eight CPU cores run at up to 2.2GHz, and a Mali-G57 MC2 handles graphics. It comes with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage is 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2. A hybrid slot accepts a microSD card of up to 1TB. Compared with the Note 14 5G, this model drops 5G and uses an older, slower chip.
Cameras
The rear setup combines a 108MP main camera with a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. The main sensor measures 1/1.67 inches and has an f/1.7 lens. There is no ultra-wide camera and no optical image stabilization. On the front, a 20MP selfie camera sits in a punch-hole cutout. Both the rear and front cameras record video at up to 1080p.
Battery and charging
A 5,500mAh battery powers the phone. It supports 33W wired charging over USB-C. There is no wireless charging. Reviewers in Germany found no charger in the European retail box, so buyers there may need their own adapter.
Software and updates
The Note 14 launched with Android 14 and Xiaomi HyperOS. Notebookcheck and Smartzone report that Xiaomi promises four major Android updates and six years of security patches. That is longer support than the Note 14 Pro 4G and the Note 14 5G receive. Other extras include NFC in most markets, an IR blaster, stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Should you buy the REDMI Note 14?
The REDMI Note 14 suits buyers who want a bright 120Hz AMOLED screen and a big battery. Long update support at a low price adds to its appeal. The headphone jack, microSD support and IR blaster add practical value. However, it lacks 5G, an ultra-wide camera and 4K video. Its Helio G99-Ultra chip is also an older design. Buyers who need 5G or stronger performance should look at the Note 14 5G instead.
