The vivo V50e is a mid-range phone that shares the slim, curved design of the vivo V50. vivo announced it in India on April 10, 2025, and sales there began on April 17. A European version is also sold, with Satin Black and Pearl White colors and a smaller battery.
Design and display
The V50e has a 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED screen with a 2392 x 1080 resolution. It refreshes at up to 120 Hz and reaches 1,800 nits of local peak brightness. In India, vivo names the cover glass Diamond Shield Glass, made with Schott.
The phone weighs 186 g and is 7.39 mm thin in Pearl White. The Sapphire Blue version has a stone-like pattern that differs on every unit. The back is a plastic composite sheet. Like the V50, it is rated IP68 and IP69 against water and dust.
Performance
The phone runs on the Dimensity 7300, a 4 nm chip. It has four cores at 2.5 GHz and four at 2.0 GHz. It comes with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage is 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 2.2, with no microSD slot.
Compared with the V50, the V50e swaps the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 for this MediaTek chip. It also replaces the 50 MP ultrawide camera with an 8 MP one.
Cameras
The main camera uses a 50 MP Sony IMX882 sensor with an f/1.79 lens and optical stabilization. An 8 MP ultrawide camera with a 116-degree view sits next to it. On the front, there is a 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus. Both the main and front cameras record 4K video. An Aura Light ring helps with portraits in low light.
Battery and charging
The Indian model has a 5,600 mAh battery with 90W wired charging. The European model has a 5,140 mAh battery, also with 90W charging. Neither version supports wireless charging. The Indian box includes a charger, while the European box does not.
Software and updates
The V50e launched with Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15. It includes Circle to Search and Google Lens translation tools. vivo has not published an update promise for this model.
The European model supports NFC, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB-C 2.0. The Indian spec sheet lists no NFC. Stereo speakers and an optical in-display fingerprint reader are included on both. There is no headphone jack.
Should you buy the vivo V50e?
The V50e suits buyers who want the V50 look and IP69 protection for less money. Its 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus fits people who often shoot portraits.
Keep in mind that the ultrawide camera is only 8 MP. European buyers also get a smaller battery and no charger in the box. If you need NFC for payments, check the regional version before buying.
