The Motorola Edge (2025) is a mid-range phone for the US and Canada. Motorola announced it on May 27, 2025. It went on sale unlocked on June 5, 2025, at Best Buy, Amazon and motorola.com. The launch price was $549.99 for 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Carriers such as T-Mobile, Verizon and Visible added it later.
Design and display
The phone has a 6.7-inch Super HD pOLED screen with quad-curved edges. It shows 2712 x 1220 pixels and runs at up to 120Hz. Motorola rates peak brightness at 4,500 nits, and the panel supports HDR10+. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the front.
The back has a vegan leather finish in PANTONE Deep Forest, the only color. The body is 7.99 mm thick and weighs 181 grams. It carries IP68 and IP69 ratings and MIL-STD-810H certification. A side AI Key opens Moto AI features.
Performance
The phone runs on the Dimensity 7400, a 4 nm-class chip from MediaTek. Four Cortex-A78 cores reach up to 2.6 GHz. The Mali-G615 MC2 handles graphics. It comes with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of storage, with no microSD slot.
Cameras
The rear has three cameras. The main one uses a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 700C sensor with an f/1.8 lens and optical stabilization. A 50 MP ultrawide camera with a 122-degree view also shoots macro photos. The new 10 MP telephoto offers 3x optical zoom and has OIS.
The front camera has 50 MP and autofocus. Both the main and front cameras record 4K video at 30 fps.
Battery and charging
The battery holds 5,200 mAh. Motorola claims two days of use for a typical user. Wired charging reaches 68W with TurboPower, and wireless charging runs at 15W. Chargers are sold separately.
Software and updates
The Edge (2025) launched with Android 15. Motorola promises two major Android updates and three years of security patches. Support is expected to end in June 2028. Other features include NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, eSIM support and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.
Should you buy the Edge (2025)?
The Edge (2025) suits buyers who want a tough phone with a 3x telephoto camera. It also offers fast wired charging and wireless charging. Motorola still sells it in the US.
Keep the short update window in mind. The phone also has no headphone jack and no microSD slot. Its successor, the Motorola Edge (2026), launched in June 2026 with a smaller 6.3-inch screen.
