The Moto G73 5G is a mid-range 5G phone from Motorola. It was announced on January 24, 2023, and went on sale in Europe the same day. In Germany, it launched at €299.99 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. India got an 8 GB + 128 GB version in March 2023. The phone is no longer produced, and Motorola no longer lists it on its websites.
Design and display
The phone has a 6.5-inch LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080) and 405 ppi. The refresh rate goes up to 120 Hz. A small punch hole at the top holds the selfie camera.
The body measures 161.42 x 73.84 x 8.29 mm and weighs 181 grams. Motorola uses plastic for the body. The phone has a water-repellent design, but it carries no IP rating. It came in two colors: Midnight Blue and Lucent White. Both colors were sold in Europe and India.
Performance
Inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 930, built on a 6 nm process. Its two Cortex-A78 cores run at up to 2.2 GHz, and six Cortex-A55 cores handle lighter tasks. The GPU is an IMG BXM-8-256.
Every version has 8 GB of RAM. Storage is 256 GB in Europe and 128 GB in India. A hybrid slot accepts a microSD card of up to 1 TB, or a second nano-SIM instead.
Cameras
The rear setup has two cameras. The 50 MP main camera has an f/1.8 lens and phase-detection autofocus. It combines four pixels into one 2.0 µm Ultra Pixel in low light.
The second camera is an 8 MP ultrawide with a 118-degree field of view and autofocus. It also works as a macro and depth camera. The main camera records Full HD video at up to 60 fps. The 16 MP front camera records Full HD at 30 fps.
Battery and charging
The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh. TurboPower charging reaches 30 W, and a charger came in the box. There is no wireless charging.
Software and updates
The Moto G73 5G shipped with Android 13 and Motorola’s My UX. The phone later received Android 14. ThinkShield for mobile and the Moto Secure app were preinstalled.
Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and a USB-C 2.0 port. The phone also keeps a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers. The fingerprint reader sits in the power button.
Should you buy the Moto G73 5G?
The phone suits buyers who want a large 120 Hz screen, a big battery and a headphone jack. Expandable storage and stereo speakers are also useful extras. However, the Moto G73 5G is no longer produced. Its security support was scheduled to end in January 2026. Newer models are a safer choice for long-term use.
