The Moto G86 Power is a mid-range phone from Motorola built around a large battery. Motorola announced it on May 29, 2025, alongside the Moto G86 and Moto G56. In Europe, it launched at €329.99 for 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. An Indian version followed in July 2025. The phone is not sold in the US.
Design and display
The phone has a 6.67-inch pOLED screen with a 2712 x 1220 resolution and 446 ppi. It runs at up to 120Hz and supports HDR10+ with 10-bit color. Peak brightness reaches 4,500 nits, and Gorilla Glass 7i protects the front.
The frame is plastic, while the back uses a soft, leather-like finish. The body is 8.65 mm thick and weighs 198 grams. It has IP68 and IP69 ratings and passed MIL-STD-810H tests. The European colors are Cosmic Sky, Chrysanthemum, Golden Cypress and Spellbound.
Performance
In Europe, the phone uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300, a 4nm octa-core chip. The Indian model switches to the Dimensity 7400 instead. European buyers get 8GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. A microSD slot adds more space. The phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC.
Cameras
The rear setup matches the Moto G86. The main camera has 50 megapixels, a Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, an f/1.88 lens and optical stabilization. An 8-megapixel ultrawide lens also takes macro shots. The front camera has 32 megapixels. Video recording reaches 4K at 30 fps on both sides.
Battery and charging
This is the main reason to pick the Power model. It packs a 6,720mAh battery, the largest Motorola had used at launch. Motorola rates it for up to 53 hours of mixed use. Wired charging runs at 30W in Europe, while the Indian model supports 33W. There is no wireless charging.
Software and updates
The phone launched with Android 15 and a near-stock interface. In Europe, Motorola promises two Android upgrades and four years of security patches. The Indian model gets a shorter policy of one upgrade and three years of patches.
Should you buy the Moto G86 Power?
The Moto G86 Power fits people who want long battery life without a bulky phone. It keeps the bright screen, cameras and tough build of the Moto G86. It also adds a microSD slot for extra storage. However, the Dimensity 7300 is a modest performer for heavy games. If you prefer a thinner and lighter phone, the regular Moto G86 is the closer match.
