The REDMAGIC 10 Pro is a gaming phone announced in China on November 13, 2024. It launched globally in early December 2024. Open sales of the international version started on December 18, 2024. In the US, it launched at $649 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone has since been discontinued. Every version is sold out in the official REDMAGIC stores, and the 11-series has taken its place.
Design and display
The phone has a flat design with no camera bump and a glass back over a metal frame. It measures 163.42 x 76.14 x 8.9 mm and weighs 229 grams. Shadow, Dusk, Moonlight and Lightspeed finishes were offered, with Dusk and Moonlight using a see-through design. The IP54 rating covers splashes and dust only.
The 6.85-inch BOE AMOLED panel has a 2688 x 1216 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It reaches 2,000 nits at peak and covers the full DCI-P3 color gamut. Because the 16MP selfie camera sits under the display, the screen has no notch or punch hole.
Performance
Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 3nm chip with an Adreno 830 GPU. Its fastest CPU cores run at up to 4.32 GHz. It comes with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. There is no microSD slot. REDMAGIC adds its own Red Core R3 gaming chip as well.
Cooling is a major part of the design. The ICE-X system combines liquid metal, graphene layers and a built-in fan that spins at up to 23,000 RPM. Gamers also get 520Hz capacitive shoulder triggers and customizable RGB lighting.
Cameras
The rear setup has three cameras. The 50MP main camera uses an OmniVision OV50E sensor with optical stabilization, joined by a 50MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro. REDMAGIC lists 8K video recording among the phone’s features. On the front, the 16MP under-display camera keeps the screen clear for games and video.
Battery and charging
The global model uses a 7,050mAh dual-cell battery. It supports wired charging at up to 100W, and an 80W charger comes in the box. There is no wireless charging. In China, this hardware was sold as the REDMAGIC 10 Pro+ with 120W charging. The Chinese 10 Pro had a 6,500mAh battery and 80W charging.
Software and updates
The phone shipped with REDMAGIC OS 10 based on Android 15. REDMAGIC promised three years of regular updates, including at least one major Android upgrade. Buyers in the European Union and the UK get five years of software support under local rules.
Should you buy the REDMAGIC 10 Pro?
The REDMAGIC 10 Pro suits gamers who want a large battery and active fan cooling. Shoulder triggers and a headphone jack add to that. However, it is no longer produced, and the official stores no longer sell it. Its direct successor is the REDMAGIC 10S Pro. Buyers who need strong water resistance, wireless charging or a long update promise should look at other phones.
