The Moto G Power (2024) is a budget 5G phone from Motorola. Motorola sold it as the moto g power 5G – 2024. The company announced it on March 12, 2024, and it reached US stores on March 22. It launched at $299.99 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It was sold in the US and Canada. Motorola no longer sells it, and the Moto G Power (2025) replaced it.
Design and display
The phone has a plastic frame and a vegan leather back. It measures 167.22 x 76.44 x 8.5 mm and weighs 201 grams. Motorola offered it in Midnight Blue and Pale Lilac.
The front holds a 6.7-inch LCD panel with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. It refreshes at up to 120Hz. The fingerprint reader sits in the side power button. There is no official IP rating, only a water-repellent design.
Performance
Inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 7020, a 6nm chip. It pairs two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.2GHz with six Cortex-A55 cores. Graphics run on an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU. The only version has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A microSD slot adds more space for photos and files.
Cameras
The back has two cameras. The main sensor has 50MP, an f/1.8 lens and optical image stabilization. An 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 lens also works for macro shots. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera. Video recording tops out at 1080p.
Battery and charging
A 5,000mAh battery powers the phone. It supports 30W wired TurboPower charging over USB-C. It also charges wirelessly at up to 15W, which is rare at this price. Reviewers do not agree on whether the box includes a charger.
Software and updates
The phone shipped with Android 14 and later received Android 15. Motorola planned only one major Android update for it. That is a short promise next to rivals such as the Galaxy A35 5G.
Other features include NFC, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3. It also keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Should you buy the Moto G Power (2024)?
Motorola has stopped selling the Moto G Power (2024), so stock is limited to remaining units. It still suits buyers who want a large 120Hz screen, wireless charging and a headphone jack on a budget. Expandable storage is another plus. However, it lacks an IP rating and gets few Android updates. The Moto G Power (2025) adds IP68 and IP69 protection and a newer Android version.
