The Moto G Power (2025) is a budget 5G phone from Motorola. The company announced it on January 14, 2025, and sales began on February 6. It launched in the US at $299.99 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Motorola sells it in the US and Canada. The Moto G Power (2026) has since joined the lineup.
Design and display
The phone keeps a vegan leather back and comes in Leaf Green and Slate Gray. It measures 166.62 x 77.10 x 8.72 mm and weighs 208 grams. Durability is the main upgrade over the 2024 model. The body carries IP68 and IP69 ratings and meets MIL-STD-810H.
The 6.8-inch LCD panel has a 2388 x 1080 resolution and 387 ppi. It refreshes at up to 120Hz and reaches about 1,000 nits. The fingerprint reader sits in the side power button. Face unlock is also available.
Performance
Power comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 6300. Its octa-core CPU peaks at 2.4GHz, and an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 handles graphics. On paper, it is slower than the Dimensity 7020 in the 2024 model. The phone has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A microSD slot accepts cards up to 1TB.
Cameras
The main camera uses a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 lens and optical stabilization. An 8MP ultrawide camera with autofocus doubles as a macro lens. The front camera has 16MP and an f/2.4 lens. Both sides record video at up to 1080p and 30fps.
Battery and charging
A 5,000mAh battery runs the phone. It supports 30W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Motorola does not include a charger in the box, only a USB cable. Battery capacity and charging speeds match the 2024 model.
Software and updates
The phone launched with Android 15. Motorola promises three years of security updates. Sources disagree on the number of Android upgrades, with one or two reported.
Other features include NFC, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Wi-Fi 5. It keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack. The SIM setup pairs one nano-SIM with an eSIM.
Should you buy the Moto G Power (2025)?
The Moto G Power (2025) suits buyers who want a tough budget phone. IP68 and IP69 protection is rare at this price. Wireless charging, a headphone jack and microSD support add to its value. However, the chip is modest, and video stops at 1080p. Motorola now sells it below its launch price on its US store.
