The OnePlus 11 is a flagship phone announced in China on January 4, 2023. It went on sale there on January 9. The global launch followed on February 7, with sales from February 16. In the US, it started at $699 for 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. In Europe, it cost €849. OnePlus no longer sells it, and the OnePlus 12 is its successor.
Design and display
The phone has a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED panel with LTPO. The resolution is 3216 x 1440 pixels, or 525 ppi. The refresh rate adapts from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. OnePlus rates the peak brightness at 1,300 nits. The screen supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10+, and Gorilla Glass Victus covers it.
The body uses an aluminum frame and a glass back, with a round Hasselblad camera module. It weighs 205 g and is 8.53 mm thick. The Alert Slider returns after it was dropped on the OnePlus 10T. Dust and water protection is rated IP64. The global colors are Titan Black, with matte frosted glass, and glossy Eternal Green. A limited Marble Odyssey edition with a textured rock-like back came out in India. In China, the same design was sold as the Jupiter Rock edition.
Performance
A Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 runs the phone, paired with the Adreno 740 GPU. Global models come with 8 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The 128 GB version uses UFS 3.1 storage, while the 256 GB version uses UFS 4.0. China also got 12 GB / 256 GB and 16 GB / 512 GB versions. There is no microSD slot.
Cameras
The rear setup was tuned with Hasselblad. The main camera has a 50 MP Sony IMX890 sensor with an f/1.8 lens and OIS. A 48 MP ultrawide also handles macro shots. A 32 MP portrait telephoto offers 2x optical zoom. The rear cameras record up to 8K at 24 fps. The 16 MP selfie camera tops out at 1080p video.
Battery and charging
The phone has a 5,000 mAh dual-cell battery. US models charge at 80 W, while models in Europe, the UK, India and China support 100 W. A charger is included in the box. However, there is no wireless charging.
Software and updates
The global model launched with OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13. China models ran ColorOS 13. OnePlus promised four Android upgrades and five years of security updates from launch.
Should you buy the OnePlus 11?
The OnePlus 11 suits buyers who want a fast flagship chip, a sharp LTPO screen and quick wired charging. It also keeps the Alert Slider and stereo speakers. Buyers who need wireless charging or full IP68 protection should look elsewhere. Note that the phone is no longer produced. The OnePlus 12 replaced it, so new stock is now limited.
