The Samsung Galaxy XCover7 Pro is a rugged 5G phone for frontline workers and businesses. Samsung announced it on April 14, 2025, alongside the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro tablet. Sales began in April 2025. It sits above the regular Galaxy XCover7 in Samsung’s rugged lineup. The phone is sold in the US, the UK and Europe.
Design and display
The XCover7 Pro measures 168.6 x 79.9 x 10.2 mm and weighs 240 g. It carries an IP68 rating and meets the MIL-STD-810H military standard. Samsung also tested it with common workplace sanitizers, such as ethanol and bleach.
The 6.6-inch TFT LCD has a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Gorilla Glass Victus+ protects it. Vision Booster improves readability in bright light, and a touch sensitivity mode works with thin gloves. A fingerprint reader sits in the power key, and face recognition is also available.
Performance
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, a 4 nm octa-core chip from Qualcomm. It has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. A microSD slot takes cards of up to 2 TB. This is a clear step up from the entry-level chip in the regular XCover7.
Samsung DeX is supported, so the phone can drive a monitor with a desktop-style interface. Two programmable keys, the Top Key and the XCover Key, can trigger push-to-talk, barcode scanning or emergency alerts.
Cameras
The rear has a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture. Next to it is an 8 MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. A flash sits next to them. On the front, there is a 13 MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
Battery and charging
The 4,350 mAh battery is user-replaceable, which is rare in modern phones. Wired charging runs at 15 W, and the box has no charger. POGO pins let companies charge several phones at once in a dock.
Software and updates
The XCover7 Pro launched with Android 15 and Galaxy AI tools such as Circle to Search and Object Eraser. Samsung promises seven years of OS and security updates. Security relies on Samsung Knox with Knox Vault. Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and a USB 3.2 Type-C port. The SIM setup pairs one Nano-SIM with an eSIM.
New stereo speakers add anti-feedback noise reduction. This helps teams that use walkie-talkie apps close to each other. However, the phone has no 3.5 mm headphone jack, unlike the regular XCover7.
Should you buy the Galaxy XCover7 Pro?
The Galaxy XCover7 Pro suits businesses that need a tough phone with a long life. The swappable battery, seven years of updates and 120 Hz screen are its main strengths. On the other hand, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage are modest. There is also no headphone jack. Buyers on a tight budget can choose the cheaper Galaxy XCover7 instead.
