Phone news this week: vivo X500 Pro Max Europe price, POCO X8s

The vivo X500 Pro Max Europe price is now official: vivo brought its Zeiss camera flagships to Europe this week, starting at €1,399 for the smaller X500 Pro. Motorola also added a big-battery Moto G47 Power for the UK and Europe, POCO took the X8s global, and China got four notable launches.

vivo X500 Pro Max Europe price and X500 Pro launch

vivo launched the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max in Europe at an event in Tenerife on October 27, a month after their debut in China. The X500 Pro costs €1,399 with 256GB of storage. The Pro Max costs €1,599 with 256GB, €1,799 with 512GB and €2,199 with 1TB, and the 1TB version is sold only through vivo’s own European store.

Both phones use the Dimensity 9600 Pro and a 50MP main camera. The Pro Max adds a 200MP 3.5x periscope, while the X500 Pro has a 64MP 3.5x periscope. Batteries are smaller than in China: the Pro Max has 6,750mAh in Europe instead of 8,000mAh, and the X500 Pro has 6,510mAh, or 5,300mAh on vivo’s German and Austrian pages. European models ship without a charger.

Availability: Europe from October 27, though vivo has not confirmed a date for France. India later. US not announced. The standard X500 is not sold in Europe.

Moto G47 Power brings a 7,000mAh battery to Europe

Motorola added the Moto G47 Power to its European range, priced at £299.99 in the UK and €339 in the EU. The main upgrade over the regular Moto G47 is the battery, which grows from 5,200mAh to 7,000mAh with 30W charging.

The rest is modest for the price: a Dimensity 6300, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a 6.67-inch 720p LCD at 120Hz. It has a 108MP main camera and an IP64 rating.

Availability: UK and Europe; Motorola’s Austrian store already lists it as in stock. US not announced.

POCO X8s goes global from $399

Last week the POCO X8s opened for pre-orders in Vietnam. POCO has now announced it globally, with early-bird prices of $399 for 8GB + 256GB and $499 for 12GB + 512GB.

The compact phone has a 6.35-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a 6,330mAh battery with 100W charging and a 50MP 2.5x telephoto alongside its 50MP main camera.

Availability: Vietnam deliveries on November 6–9. Global sale date, Europe and the US: not announced.

Android 17 reaches more phones, iPhone Duo reaches more countries

Nothing began a staggered rollout of Android 17 with Nothing OS 5.0 on October 30, covering the Phone (3a), Phone (3a) Pro, Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro. Samsung also widened stable One UI 9, with the Galaxy A55 5G getting it globally and the Galaxy A35 5G starting with carrier-locked units in the US.

Apple’s second wave of iPhone Duo sales was set for October 30, adding 28 countries to the 70-plus that got the phone on October 23. The foldable also runs iOS 27.1, a version released only for the Duo; other iPhones will go straight to iOS 27.2.

Availability: software rollouts are staggered by region and carrier, so timing varies.

REDMI K100 and OnePlus Ace 7: huge batteries in China

REDMI launched the K100 on October 27 with a 10,000mAh battery and 100W charging, the biggest yet in a Xiaomi group phone. It pairs the Snapdragon 8 Elite with a 6.83-inch 165Hz display and costs CNY 3,499 to CNY 4,499.

OnePlus followed on October 29 with the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro. Both have a 9,000mAh battery with 100W charging, a 6.78-inch display that reaches 185Hz in games, cooling fans and a 200MP main camera. The Pro adds the full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a 50MP 3.5x periscope. The Ace 7 costs CNY 4,399 to CNY 5,699, and the Pro costs CNY 4,799 to CNY 7,299.

Availability: China only. Neither brand has announced a global version.

Huawei Pura 90 Plus and Samsung W27 launch in China

Huawei added the Pura 90 Plus to its Pura 90 line on October 28. It debuts the Kirin 9025 and has a 50MP 1-inch main camera with a variable aperture, a 48MP 4x telephoto and a 5,700mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. It costs CNY 5,499 to CNY 6,999.

Samsung’s W27, announced on October 29 with China Telecom, is a China-only luxury version of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra with gold frames and an 8-inch inner display. It costs CNY 18,999, or CNY 21,999 with 1TB of storage.

Availability: China only; Pura 90 Plus sales began on October 31. Global versions are not announced.
